PSHE
At Southfield, PSHE empowers students to become confident, resilient and compassionate young people. Through a safe, inclusive and challenging curriculum, students develop the knowledge, skills and values to make informed decisions about their health, wellbeing, relationships, finances, safety and future aspirations.
PSHE matters now because it helps students navigate the opportunities and challenges of adolescence: building positive relationships, looking after their physical and mental health, managing risk, understanding diversity and finding the confidence to use their voice. It matters equally for the future, giving students the life skills, emotional intelligence and critical thinking to succeed in further education, employment and adult life.
Our values run through every lesson. We want students to Be Ready to thrive in an ever-changing world, to Be Respectful of the rights, differences and worth of others and themselves, and to Be Responsible for their choices and for the difference they can make in their communities. Our vision is that every student leaves knowing who they are, valuing who they can become, and with the skills, confidence and self-respect to lead a happy, healthy and successful life, Proud to be Southfield.
